Seven days after the start of the strike called by the National Confederation of Freight Transport (CNTC), in an article in Pulso – the business supplement of La Tercera newspaper – the Salmon Council pointed out the impact of the strike to the salmon industry, stating that companies in the sector have warned about “collapses in some cold stores with the finished product”, due to the impossibility of dispatch and the lack of viscera removal. In addition to this, there are shortages of key inputs for production.
